Portugal's first FTC team · #33535 · Oeiras
Founded in Oeiras on 10 October 2025 — Portugal's first-ever FIRST® Tech Challenge team. Students building cutting-edge robots to tackle the world's premier high-school robotics league.
Our first qualifier was The Hague, on 6 December. We were invited on the eve of the event. We built a working driver-controlled robot in sixty minutes and finished 9th of 12.
Six weeks later we won the Helmond Qualifier. Then a Benelux Championship final, three design awards, and the European Premier Event in Eindhoven — as the only Portuguese team in the room.
Our name and our energy come from rock and roll, and that is how we work — fast, and determined to pull the whole Portuguese STEM scene up with us. Every robot we build carries a rock-song codename.
Three crews — hardware, software and outreach — and no school funding behind any of it. This season is privately backed, which means every hour and every euro is a choice somebody made to be here.
That is the mission, in our own words, and it is bigger than one team. Portugal had no FIRST® Tech Challenge teams and no events, so we hosted the country's first one — twelve teams, six countries, in Oeiras.
We helped start the team that lined up beside us on that field. There should be fifty teams in this country, and we intend to be the reason there are.
The Crew
Students, coaches and mentors across three crews — hardware, software and outreach — working off one shared record so what we learn stays with the team, not with whoever leaves.

If you're a student in Portugal who wants to compete in Europe — or a mentor, a school, or a company who wants to make that possible — we want to hear from you. Every event, lab visit and workshop we run is how people find their way in.
